Chiefs and City played a goalless draw at Fairbridge on June 27.

The two sides are at the top on the log-table with 37 points and both with a +19 goal difference. Chiefs are on top courtesy of a superior goal difference after having scored 26 goals and conceding seven while City have banged in 23 and conceded four in 17 matches.

Both sides boast of former PSL coaches, with the local authority side mentored by former Njube Sundowns, Chicken Inn and How Mine gaffer Philani “Beefy” Ncube while Chiefs are coached by former Quelaton’s Thulani Sibanda.

Sibanda got Quelaton promoted into top flight league in 2011 and won the Zifa Southern Region Division One League with Bulawayo Chiefs in 2013.

City were held to a goalless draw by Ntabazinduna Prison on the same weekend.

Former PSL side Bantu Rovers have found back their winning formula, sit on the third spot with 30 points after thrashing struggling Mpumalanga 3-0 at Luveve last week and they travel to V ictoria Falls on Sunday to face Amagagasi.

ZPC Hwange also on 30 points are away to Black Boots in Fairbridge tomorrow while Casmyn on 29 points host Hwange Juniors at Turk Mine.

Second placed Border Strikers will be aiming to keep up pace with the leaders when they host Chrome Stars.

ZPC Munyati who started the season on a bright note, but fizzled midway through the campaign, will be hoping to keep up pace with the leaders when they travel to Sable Chemicals.

Last season’s premiership retreaters Shabanie Mine’s quest for an immediate return continues as they travel to Kwekwe to face Silo United.
