Revellers who had thronged the venue in anticipation of a big night expressed different views.
Mthabisi Ncube of Mawabeni, said while it was disappointing that the “The Senior Lecturer” was in no-show, at least the management did not fleece them of their money as they managed to communicate with them well ahead before they gained entry into the venue.
“Personally I am happy that the promoters told us that the show had been moved to next weekend and they didn’t charge us anything like other promoters usually do,” said Ncube.
Another reveller Zenzo Moyo said it was unfortunate that the show had been postponed because he had driven all the way from Bulawayo to watch Zakaria.
“I hope next time they will communicate with us on time, but next week I will be here because I have followed this gentleman for ages,” he said.
Zacharia has managed to keep his career growing as he is one of the most powerful musicians in the country as far as sungura/ museve music is concerned.
