Zimbabwe’s doubles pair of brothers Benjamin and Courtney Lock were denied what could have been an emotional maiden triumph after a heartbreaking tie break loss in the doubles final of the Old Mutual Zimbabwe F3 Futures tournament at Harare Sports Club yesterday.

The unseeded pair went down 6-4, 4-6 (7-10) to the top-seeded American pair of Evan King and Anderson Reed in a thrilling final.
Courtney and Benjamin, who seem to be improvising every time they take to the court as a doubles pair, had taken the early initiative in the tie after breaking their opponents’ serve in the 10th game of a fiercely contested first set which they won 6-4.
However, the American pair upped their game in the second set as the Zimbabweans struggled to hold serve before wrapping up the match in the tie breaker.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Cara Black and her American playing partner Lisa Raymond progressed through to the third round at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships after a straight sets victory over the sixth seeded all-Spanish team of Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro in London yesterday.
Black and Raymond comfortably won the match 6-3, 6-1 in one hour five minutes, for their second straight win of the tournament after 5-7, 6-3, 7-5 win over the unseeded duo of Johanna Larson of Sweden and Croatia’s Petra Martic in the first round on Wednesday.
