STRUGGLING Harare giants CAPS United will be looking to end a dreadful run of three consecutive defeats when they take on hosts 2015 champions Chicken Inn at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
Makepekepe are experiencing their worst run in the league since 2012 when they lost seven matches in a row between July and August.
CAPS United have been affected by financial constraints which have seen players stage a protest, which resulted in the delayed start to their match against Cranborne Bullets a fortnight ago.
And a number of players were sent packing by the club in the aftermath of the embarrassing episode.
The club has lost four of their last five matches.
However, things have since significantly improved and Standardsport has it on good authority that the players are happy again in the camp after the bonuses and salaries were cleared.
Coach Lloyd Chitembwe is expecting a change of fortunes.

“Honestly speaking, you can’t stand a chance when the house is in trouble and obviously experiencing the turbulence we were facing in the past two weeks,” he said ahead of today’s tie
“But I think it has to stop at some point and I am very happy with the attitude that I have seen in training. I just hope it will take us out of this situation and it is something very doable because the capacity is there.”
Chicken Inn, who sit second on the log standings, are also not in the best of form having only won once in five matches including three draws and a defeat while they failed to win in the last two fixtures.
Coach Joey Antipas refused to read into challenges that their opponents have been facing and is expecting a tough encounter.
“We are away from home, so this is a very tricky fixture. All the talk and hearsay about what’s happening at CAPS United we are not listening to it. We are taking this match seriously because we can never expect a weak CAPS United side,” he said.
Interestingly, matches between the two teams have produced a winner since 2016 with both teams winning four matches apiece.
Antipas is expecting another thrilling encounter.
“Our games against CAPS United are always open and we are expecting another thrilling encounter when we play against them again,” he added.
With log leaders Dynamos away in Bulawayo for a date with Bosso, a win for Chicken Inn may see them climb to the summit of the standings if Dembare fail to get at least a point.
