A MUSIC show held at Palace Gardens and Hotel in Bulawayo, where Soul Jah Love — real name Soul Musaka Muzavazi — was scheduled to perform, degenerated into chaos when the top dancehall chanter showed up late and briefly took to the stage before disappearing.

Soul Jah Love, who had appeared on stage for a few minutes hoping to appease the fans, had to scurry for cover after the revellers that had thronged the venue started throwing chairs and beer cans at hotel staff, DJs and other artistes.
The angry fans, who were demanding refunds, took their violence beyond the hotel’s walls as the mayhem spilled out.
They turned on taxi drivers, stoning their vehicles while a commuter omnibus had its windows shattered after it was mistaken for one hired to transport Soul Jah Love.
The police, upon realising that they were outnumbered, were forced to call for reinforcements.
The popular chanter has of late been in the limelight for the wrong reasons after he was arrested for alleged fraud in Mutare in February.
The Ndini Uya Uya hitmaker had allegedly failed to perform after he had been paid a deposit of $750 by show promoter, Isau Mupfumi.
He also left hundreds fans stranded after having been double-booked in Mutare and the border town of Beitbridge.
