EASTERN Region Division One football side Mutare City Rovers continued with their free-fall after they were held 0-0 by Renco Mine in a match played at Sakubva Stadium on Saturday.

On Saturday, the side’s head coach Kennedy “Bokande” Kachara was manhandled by the club supporters over the poor result.
Mutare City are now occupying fourth position with 14 points from eight matches, while Hartley Academy were the biggest winners over the weekend after they defeated the hapless Mutare Polytechnic 6-0 in the capital.
Hartley are on second position with 17 points from eight matches, while log leaders Prime Rangers dropped two points after they were held to a nil-all stalemate by the unpredictable FC Three Leaves in Chipinge.
They have already collected 18 points from eight matches.
Masvingo City’s fine run came to an abrupt end after they were defeated 2-1 by Melfort.
They are still within the leading pack as they are occupying third position with 16 points from eight matches.

In an interview with NewsDay Sport yesterday, Hartley Academy head coach Taku Shariwa, who is currently in Namibia to purchase his side’s team bus, said they were taking each game as it comes.
“We should be within the leading pack and if we maintain our form to the second half of the season, then it will be good for us,” he said
