Bhebhe confirmed this on Saturday ahead of his performance before thousands of fans who packed the auditorium for the seventh edition of the two-day Call to Worship Africa night at HICC.

“I have been struggling to make a decision on where to do a recording for the past few months, can you help me make a decision?” he said to wild cheers.

“It is confirmed then we will start working on it, I am coming to do a live DVD recording here in September.”

The Friday and Saturday shows attracted a huge crowd and Zimbabwe’s “wonder boy”, who has attracted a massive following beyond the nation’s borders, lived up to his billing alongside fellow local compatriots.

As anticipated in the hyped build-up to the show, he brought ample amounts of energy to the stage and a number of distinct sleek dance moves to compliment his voice.

He sang the famous Ichokwadi hit sending the fans into frenzy with a couple more choruses before later changing into deeply felt worship songs to which people in attendance sang along.

The duo of Richard Dube and Bongani Mhlabi proved their mettle in the genre with their polished performances backed by an interdenominational choir and band consisting of choristers from more than 70 churches.

Call to Worship Africa has been a highway for the rise of most contemporary artistes, including Bhebhe.

It was co-founded by Charlotte Pike and her husband in 2009 to bridge denominational boundaries by bringing all Christians in one place for nights of worship and prayer annually.

The ensemble has toured different African countries under different themes and this year’s theme was “United in Worship”.

A packed auditorium with members from different churches confirmed the unity.
