This week, she started sessions dubbed One on One with Linda Gabriel which will continue every Tuesday for the next 12 weeks.

In an interview with NewsDay, Gabriel said she could not take a break from art and had decided to engage with her fans.

“I just need to watch my diet for now as I am recovering, but I cannot take a break from poetry. That is why I have decided to start these sessions,” she said.

“I went out to other audiences who did not get the chance to see me perform when I used to at the Book Café and at the same time performing consistently at one venue.”

She said there was no cover charge for the first show because she wanted to familiarise with the audience in a more personal set up.

Gabriel is one of the few poets to have toured the world through poetry and has always proved her prowess in the world of spoken word art.
