The Harare giants have been fined before for crowd problems at their matches earning the tag of bad losers.

hos 5 All that is the reason why a group of supporters known as Harare Chapter decided to be involved in some social responsibility as “a way of showing that there is more to who we are that what we are associated with.”

The supporters were at Chitungwiza General Hospital where they were involved in a cleanup campaign.

Benevolence Vono, the organizing secretary told NewsDay : “What motivated us was a change in behavior and to show the world that we have a fantastic team that has fantastic supporters. We wanted to rub off the stigma that brands us violent people.

“Cleanliness is vital to people especially to patients in hospitals so we thought of playing our apart as Dembare supporters. We also are trying to send a message to people out there to help the needy.

Vono, a prominent supporter, added that as an organization of supporters they discouraged violence at stadiums adding that supporters are encouraged to air their grievances through their Harare Chapter association.

He said: “We would like to thank ZLG for supporting us during our clean up in Chitungwiza and we also appeal to new partners to come forward n help us as we intend to visit many areas like children’s home”

Chitungwiza Hospital’s chief executive officer, Dr Obadiah Moyo said: “We appreciate the concerns of the community and we appreciate that the community has come out to assist in this way. Dynamos fans did a great thing for a community hospital like this one and now we hope they will go a step further and arrange a fundraising match to cater for some needs we have as a hospital.
