Marongwe’s daughter Gugulethu Mary Ann Tichatonga Marongwe confirmed the sad news on her Facebook wall on Sunday.

“It’s with a heavy broken heart and red swollen eyes that I announce the passing away of my mom yesterday (Saturday),” she said, adding her mother had been battling breast cancer for the last four years.

A family member who declined to be named said Emma’s body was scheduled to arrive in Zimbabwe today and burial would take place tomorrow in Rusape at the family burial shrine.

Emma was the late former Mabvuku MP Pamela Christine Tungamirai’s younger sister.

Foreign Affairs secretary Joey Bimha could not be reached for comment as his mobile phone was unreachable. An official with the Ministry of Information confirmed the death yesterday.
