“Emily is fuming and she has already started exploring the legal route challenging her dethronement because of the unfound alleged nude pictures,” a source said.

Repeated efforts to get a comment from Kachote yesterday were unsuccessful as her mobile phone went unanswered.

Twenty-five-year-old Kachote has since taken to social media platform Facebook to express her anger against the pageant organisers.

“No matter how hard you try to remove me from the throne by blackmailing me with the so- called nude pictures you won’t win because I am here to stay and I will remain Miss Zimbabwe. Hopefully, I will become Miss World soon. #Game_Of_Throne,” she wrote.

“I have no patience for useless things. For now I am waiting for my attorney, then I will hold a Press conference before the end of week.”

The continued pageant drama has angered Zimbabweans from all walks of life including politicians with opposition MDC Renewal Team spokesman Jacob Mafume lashing out at the involvement of army and Zanu PF officials in the running of the pageant.

Speaking to NewsDay, Mafume said the army and Zanu PF officials should leave the pageant to be run by qualified personnel.

“We cannot have people using military intelligence tactics to interview school age going girls and expect the young girl to be coherent when she is being interviewed by a colonel,” Mafume said.

“This saga goes to show that the military and worse still their wives have no business being involved in beauty pageants. We will not be surprised to find the girls being court-martialled after the military declares a special regiment of Miss Zimbabwe.”

The involvement of the military in the beauty pageant has been criticised and raised concern on different media platforms like Whats App, Twitter and Facebook.

Modelling Industry Association Zimbabwe (Miaz) director Wilbert Rukato also blasted pageant organisers saying the controversy surrounding it was a result of unprofessional scouting by organisers.

“The Miss Zimbabwe Trust, which has taken over the management of the national pageant, has turned the hitherto professional and credible beauty contest into a haven for scandal with almost every model ending up mired in controversy,” Rukato said.

“Miss World Zimbabwe’s scouting team must improve on the model’s profiling techniques to ensure that scandal-free title holders are selected.”

According to Miss Zimbabwe Trust spokesperson Tendai Chirau, First Princess Annie Grace Mutambu will be crowned the new queen on June 20 in the capital.

Chirau said from their investigations they discovered that pictures that circulated on various social media platforms were not Kachote’s, but they dethroned her as she confessed that she once posed nude thereby violating Regulation 5 governing the pageant.

In what appears to be the new template for the Miss World Zimbabwe pageant, Kachote is the second model after last year’s winner Thabiso Phiri was also deposed by the Miss Zimbabwe Trust after a similar scandal.
