The seven were remanded in custody to today for their bail hearing. Prosecutor Michael Reza pleaded with the court to deny them bail arguing that they were likely to abscond and interfere with investigations.

Gomwe was represented by John Ndomene while his alleged accomplices — Muchinerepi Mpindu, Fidelis Ndaradza, Humphrey Madenyika, Harauwandi Munyaviri, Norah Torongo and Josephine Hadziende — were represented by Rungano Mahuni.
