The comes after the Big African Air Show held at Charles Prince Airport in September last year that attracted around 20 000 people.
“The main purpose of the air day is to educate people about the world of aviation,” said Alderman Moses Muduuri, one of the organisers.
“We have several social responsibility programmes in the pursuit of our objectives that require financing.”
He said they had so far partnered with the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, Air Zimbabwe and ZiFM Stereo.
Muduuri said they were expecting up to 10 000 people and there would be aircraft exhibitions, talk on aviation careers and free entertainment.
“People will have access to micro lights and helicopters, with aviation experts on standby to answer any questions,” he said.
Advance tickets are selling at $5 for adults and $3 for children, while exclusive VIP tickets for the Captain’s lounge are pegged at $150.
The police band and other local musicians will provide entertainment.
