Both teams will come into the match with different fortunes as Chiredzi FC is enjoying a good start to the season while Yuna-Yuna as they affectively known by their legion of fans are yet to collect a point after two matches of the campaign. Chiredzi FC have already shown the grittiness needed to win the sole ticket into Premiership after winning their first two matches with 1-0 identical margins against Mutare City and Gaza Gunners respectively.

Masvingo United last weekend lost to Mutare City Rovers 1-0 at Sakubva Stadium and this weekend they will be hoping for change of fortunes.

Chiredzi FC are currently sitting on second position with six points while Prime Rangers are topping the log standings with the same number of points but they have a superior goal difference. Masvingo United are lying on the 16th position with zero points in the 18-team league team.

In an interview with NewsDay Sport yesterday Chiredzi manager Energy Zava said they are going to fight with their backs in the Masvingo derby.

“This is not going to be an easy match for us, Masvingo is a big team in the league and they have experience but we are also no pushovers as we have a good young squad with potential,” he said.

“Our defence has been doing well as we are yet to concede a goal this season. So we are hoping if tomorrow we maintain that clean sheet then we are home and dry,” he said.

In another pick of the matches United Kingdom-based Zimbabwe Phil Makekera-owned side Hartley Academy will take on log leaders Prime Rangers in Ruwa tomorrow.

Hartley Academy which is coached youthful coach Taku Shariwa is lying on the sixth position with four points from two matches.
