IT’S all looking good for FC Platinum again as they edged Triangle in a five-goal Castle Lager Premier Soccer League thriller played at Mandava Stadium yesterday.
Goals from Obrey Chirwa, an own goal from Jimmy Tigere and Donald Ngoma outweighed strikes from Hillary Bakacheza and Lameck Nhamo.

The result means FC Platinum have now won two consecutive league matches at home and this comes after last week’s 1-0 away loss to Dynamos.

Platinum coach Norman Mapeza was happy with the character shown by his charges to overturn the first half deficit.

“We showed character in the second half and I am happy with the way the boys played. At this level of the game you do not come back when you have gifted the opponents such goals,” said Mapeza.

Losing coach Kelvin Kaindu said: “It was a good game, both teams played well, they put up a good fight. I can even afford to put up a smile even after a defeat, you cannot even notice that we were missing six key players.”

The platinum miners settled into the match early and were rewarded with a goal in the third minute when Chirwa headed in a corner delivered by Raphael Mudhuviwa.

The visitors leveled the scoreline in the 9th minute when a mis-communication in the defence gifted possession to Bakacheza, who made no mistake inside the box.
Chirwa then raced clear in the 17th minute squaring the ball into the path of Brian Muzondiwa, who fluffed the chance. After 29 minutes of action Nhamo turned the defense inside out, but his final effort was blocked by Kelvin Moyo.

Ten minutes before the breather Nhamo headed the visitors into the lead from a Pasca Manhanga cross. Mapeza’s pep time talk worked wonders when Tigere mistimed a cross from Walter Musona directing it into his own net leveling the scoreline in the first minute of action after the breather.

Six minutes later Musona pushed the ball into the path of Ngoma whose tame effort was easily saved by Ronald Mudimu in goal for Triangle.
