A 35-YEAR-OLD Zaka man who peeped through the bathroom door while his 15-year-old daughter was taking a bath before he raped her has been convicted by Masvingo magistrate Oliver Mudzongachiso.

The “Peeping Tom” father, who could not be named to protect the victim’s identity, now awaits sentence next Monday.

Prosecuting, Nancy Makuvise told the court that on May 16 this year, the man stalked his daughter who had gone to take a bath and later followed her to her bedroom where he fondled her breasts telling her that “her body was the most beautiful he had ever seen”.

The court heard that he then raped her before threatening her with unspecified action if she told anyone.

After the act, the teenage fled to her grandmother in the neighbouring village where she spilled the beans, leading to the arrest of her abusive father.
