LOCAL talent search programme Zimtalent, which recently acquired a certificate from the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (Zimura), has started online registration for aspiring artistes.

The organisation’s director Shepherd Munyawiri said preparations for the live auditions were also at an advanced stage.
“We are now registered with the NACZ and Zimura so we have also started registration of online talent auditions in the voice, theatre and drama, poetry, comedy, mixtape (DJs), dance and face categories for the 2015 season of the Zimtalent hunt competition which will kick off in a few weeks,” he said.
“Preparations are also at an advanced stage for live auditions in the different categories to be held in all the pProvinces of Zimbabwe for the 2015 season of the Zimtalent hunt competition.”
Munyawiri said the auditions will kick off in the first week of June after consultations with prospective sponsors and partners.
Zimtalent is out to seek raw talent and shortlist two contestants from each province to compete with the shortlisted contestants from the online auditions.
The programme will also be running a song writing seminar initially slated for March 21.

“We had to postpone as registration with the NACZ was still in progress and we are now going to hold it at the end of this May, 2015 at the Parkview Restaurant in the Harare Gardens,” said Munyawiri.
“In the meantime, the recording of albums by the winner and finalists from the 2014 season of the Zimtalent hunt competition are also in progress which means we are almost set.”
The project runs several programmes and promotions among them “Reminisce – Recall – Relive – Recollect” currently being run on the Zimtalent Facebook page sponsored by Reminisce Messages UK.
