Mutodi, who is also a Zanu PF activist, is expected to appear before Harare regional magistrate Themba Kuwanda on June 11 charged with stealing $300 000 from the trust’s account.

This is not the first time for Mutodi to appear in court on charges of defrauding prospective house owners, mostly civil servants who would have deposited their monthly subscriptions into the trust account.

In the latest case, the State claims that on May 8, 2014, Mutodi, as the sole signatory, illegally withdrew $341 314 from the trust account and converted it to personal use.

The alleged offence was discovered in June 2014 and a report was made to the police, leading to his arrest in September the same year.
