Chida used to sing with a church group.
The 10-track album was produced by Chida, and mixed and mastered at Jazz Worx Studio’s in South Africa under the guidance of Minister Kaez. Chida told NewsDay he had decided it was time to go solo.
“I have been singing with a group at church. We recorded two albums. This is my first solo album with Rhythm Heaven,” he said.
“I decided to come up with a project to preach to the world through my music. I am not a preacher, but I was blessed with the talent of singing and that is why I have developed it to this level.”
He said his album was receiving favourable air play on various radio stations.
However, he highlighted financial challenges as a major setback affecting many gospel artistes.

“It is difficult for us to produce more albums because of financial challenges. Most artistes are failing to release albums yearly,” he said.
His music encourages people to believe in God. Some of the tracks in his album include Drawing Closer, Keep the Faith and Thank You Jesus.
