The four players are Cabby Kamhapa, Jimmy Tigere, Darwen Phiri and David Mubaiwa.

The players were reportedly coming from Harare and were on a break after their 3-2 defeat against FC Platinum on Sunday in Zvishavane.

Triangle chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze confirmed the incident, but could not highlight what caused the mishap, saying that there were no injuries reported.

“I can confirm that four of our players were involved in an accident at Gutu turn-off in Masvingo. But at the moment, I have sketchy details on what actually happened, but our head coach Kelvin Kaindu went to collect the players in Gutu,” he said.

“The players were coming from Harare as they were away after our FC Platinum game over the weekend, but the reports I got is that there were no injuries,” the chairman said.

Kaindu was not picking up his phone yesterday.

Meanwhile, Triangle will this weekend square off against How Mine at their favourite hunting ground Gibbo Stadium where they have collected maximum points in all their matches.

The Lowveld-based side is currently occupying second position with 20 points from nine matches.
