GREEN Concert organiser Dereck Mpofu has promised to bring celebrated South African jazz musician Ringo Madlingozi and Nigerian crooner Kunle Ayo to Harare on August 28 to compensate for their no-show at last weekend’s hyped gig.

Mpofu, who is the Goodwill ambassador for the Water Conservation and Zero Littering Campaign failed to bring Madlingozi and Ayo who were billed as top acts at the event.
While the dust is yet to settle, Mpofu will be hoping for better fortunes to convince people that he has the capacity to deliver.
He said he had learnt from previous mistakes and promised an improved event.
“What transpired on May 15 at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare, is now water under the bridge as we take a new approach to this forthcoming show,” Mpofu told NewsDay.
“We are glad to announce that Ringo is committed as ever to come on August 28 as an alternative date of a show to make up. All those with tickets shall be given free entrance.”
Mpofu said on the day they would also launch the Friends of the Green Ambassador in honour of all the corporates and schools that worked with them.
