DONGO Sawmill boss Francis Dongo has declared war on Buffaloes as the two sides prepare to do battle in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Vhengere Stadium, Rusape, today.

Both clubs share a cordial relationship as Dongo is an ex-Buffaloes vice-chairman and their head coach Shadreck Mugurasave, a soldier, was at the helm of the army side technical department when they gained Premiership promotion.

Dongo Sawmills are at the bottom of the log standings with three points from seven matches, while Buffaloes are occupying 15th position with five points.

With Rusape almost 94km away from Mutare, the home of Buffaloes, a full-house is expected at Vhengere Stadium.

“We might be brothers, but that will come later after the match. This is going to be a good match for both of the teams because our positions at the moment are not good,” he said.

“We are desperate to win and hope they are also desperate. So l’m declaring war against Buffaloes. This is a match we need to win at all cost. I am urging our football fans to come in their numbers because this will be the last game they will watch in the coming two weeks,” he said.

“After the Buffaloes match, we have two away games coming before we return home to face Caps United.”

Buffaloes head coach Joseph Takaringofa said they were confident of collecting their first set of maximum points.

“We are playing as a team and it’s very unfortunate that we drew against Chapungu, but we are now refocusing to meet Dongo and we are very hopeful to collect maximum points. We need these three points at all cost,” he said.
