This year’s 53rd edition of the Castle Tankard which is the country’s prestigious horse racing event was launched in the capital yesterday.

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the launch, Delta Beverages marketing manager Patricia Murambinda said the Bhachi neJean singer will share the stage with dendera ace Sulumani Chimbetu and another dancehall chanter Tocky Vibes in what promises to be a potentially explosive gig.

“There is going to be entertainment galore at this year’s edition of the event as there is going to be serious doses of intermittent excitement,” Murambinda said.

She urged people who are going to come for the event to be dressed for the occasion as there is going to be a fashion show with the best dressed walking away with prizes.

“I am encouraging Zimbabweans to come dressed for the occasion as they will be prizes to be won by those who would have come dressed for the event,” she said.

With the event sponsors Delta Beverages assuring fans doses of intermittent excitement with no doubt, after the main event all eyes will be on the three musicians to prove that they are worth to be performing at such a prestigious event.

Determined to show his credentials as the self-styled dancehall Ninja President, Winky D, there is no doubt that he will be out to prove his prowess in the genre.

Tocky Vibes is probably one of the talented dancehall artiste without doubt, but the question to ask is will he be able to rise to expectations?

The Mhai singer has been failing to perform to expectation of his fans in a series of his recent shows; hopefully he would have improved his act to prove he is a serious contender on the local showbiz.

Week in week out, the musician has been putting up yawn performances unlike what he used to do previously that resulted in many companies stampeding to appoint him their brand ambassador.

On the other hand, Sulu has proved to all and sundry that he is a force to reckon with on the local showbiz scene as he continues to command a decent crowd at his live shows.

Sulu’s publicist Joe Nyamungoma said they are always prepared for any gig and on the day they will be out to prove why they are rated among the top performers in the country.

“We are happy to be performing at the Castle Tankard after party and as Dendera Kings we promise our fans and event organisers a superb show which is valued for their resources,” Nyamungoma said.
