The meeting will be followed by several rallies with different groups including vendors and many others affected by the current economic crisis.
Tsvangirai’s spokesperson Luke Tamborinyoka yesterday said the rallies, beginning with the “Unemployed Rally”, would seek to engage and find ways of addressing a myriad of challenges affecting the people.
“There will be the rally of the unemployed in Gweru on Thursday (tomorrow). As you know, employment has become a key issue and those who are at work are technically unemployed because they have gone for months without being paid,” he said.
“There are several issues including the issue of vendors. It has become a ticking time bomb and a threat to national stability. We will talk to people who have testimony of the government of liars that promised 2 million jobs but that number represents the number of those who continue to lose jobs under this government,” Tamborinyoka added.
