A 37-YEAR-OLD teacher at a private college in Harare, Majaira Frashishko, appeared at the High Court last Friday seeking bail after being arrested for allegedly raping his 16-year old housemaid last month.

His application, however, failed to be entertained by High Court judge Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo as it turned out the State had not filed its response since it had received the application late.
According to prosecutor Henry Muringani, the incident leading to Frashishko’s arrest occurred on March 27 this year at Hopley Farm where he was staying with his wife and the complainant.
It is alleged Frashishko’s sexual advances on the minor started a day earlier at around 9am when his wife had gone to work.
The State alleges Frashishko caressed the complainant and fondled her breasts, telling the girl he wanted to teach her how to kiss.
Later in the day, it is alleged, Frashishko’s wife came home and the complainant allegedly spilled the beans, prompting the wife to publicly reprimand him.
The following day, Frashishko’s wife left for work and he took the opportunity and invited the complainant into his bedroom where he requested her to find him his pair of trousers.

The State alleges just as the maid was busy looking for the pair of trousers in the wardrobe she heard the bedroom door being slammed and locked.
Apparently when she turned back to find out, she saw Frashishko standing by the door looking at her while naked and exposing his manhood.
He allegedly grabbed the complainant and raped her. This, it is alleged, he did after threatening the complainant with assault and ordering her to keep quiet.
After the alleged act, the complainant proceeded to inform her uncle who made a police report, leading to Frashishko’s arrest.
