A visit to ZITF Hall 3 revealed a stand that is still under construction with PSL competitions manager Elisha Mandireva in attendance.

He, however, declined to entertain queries from NewsDay Sport and referred all questions to PSL chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele who was unreachable on his mobile.

A post on the PSL’s official website quotes the league’s marketing manager, Rodwell Thabe, saying they were happy with the response they received from members of the public last year on their debut year at the showcase.

“To be honest, the response has been impressive. Some have dropped by to commend us for the good sponsorships and partnerships we are getting as a league. The past three seasons have seen a number of companies come on board as a result of good management. We hope to continue to do well so that our clubs and football benefit,” Thabe said.

The PSL exhibited at the ZITF for the first time last year and this came a year after the Zimbabwe Football Association also exhibited at the country’s premier shop window.

Zifa have not pitched up this year due to financial challenges bedevilling the football mother body.

The PSL stand last year displayed pictures of the country’s top teams and players.

Also on display were the Mbada Diamonds Cup and the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League trophy.

On display yesterday were the current PSL trophy and the old one, which Dynamos earned the right to keep permanently in 2013 after winning the league championship four times in a row, alongside replica jerseys of the country’s top flight teams.
