NGEZI Platinum, who got off to a flying start in the Zifa Northern Region Division One championship race, will be seeking to maintain their top position on the league table when they travel to Starbill on Sunday.
BY SPORTS REPORTER
Ngezi Platinum hammered Zatex 4-0 in the opening match of the season last Sunday in a bold statement of intent.
They now make the trip to Starbill hoping to maintain their form. It is the only match that will be screened live on ZTV.
In other matches, former Premier Soccer League side Gunners will be seeking to give it another shot in their bid to make a return to the top-flight league this season.
Gunners who have been trying without success to bounce back into PSL in the last two years since they were relegated in 2012 having lifted the Premiership crown in 2009, got off to a good start in the Zifa Northern Region championship race this season edging Lake Harvest 1-0 in a season opener last weekend.
They might have managed just one goal but the victory in a season opener was something of a statement by the ex-Premiership outfit.
This weekend they will be under the spotlight again as they make the trip to Pfura Stadium for a date against Darwin. Darwin managed to hold Mushowani to 1-1 draw in their first match of the season and could prove to be a hard nut to crack for the Gunners.
