Featuring celebrated “first family” of Zimbabwe gospel music Pastor Charles and Olivia Charamba and Pastor Lawrence Gunda of Gospel Power, it was a night to remember for those who attended the event. Takesure Zamar Ncube, gospel couple Charles and Namatai Chipanga, and Sebastian Magacha also graced the event.

The Charambas backed by The Fishers of Men set the venue ablaze with their electrifying performance accompanied by captivating dance routines and the audience sang along to most of their songs, proving why they are rated among the best in the gospel genre.

In a backstage interview, Pastor Charamba said in Mahendere he was a witness of God’s grace.

“We are happy to be part of this show. It is our passion to support the work of God. I have seen Mahendere growing both spiritually and physically. I am a true witness of God’s grace,” Charamba said. After the Charambas, Mahendere and his Direct Worship Group came onto the stage amid wild cheers.

They belted out their sing-along songs creating a praise and worship mood.

Speaking to NewsDay after his performance, Michael, who is the youngest of the Mahendere brothers, said the night was a real refreshment of souls.

“I would like to thank the Almighty for allowing everything that we had planned to go accordingly,” he said.

“The turnout really amazed me and I need to thank all those who graced the event for their support.”

Meanwhile, Mahendere said his second live DVD titled Getting Personal With God 2 was set to hit the market by end of this month. “We are happy with the advancement ahead of our second live DVD release that is now in its mastering stage,” he said.

Mahendere is riding high with songs from the album Getting Personal With God 2 which carries songs like Tinokudai Jesu, I am in Love, Zvichanaka, Mumoyo, We are Soldiers, Makanaka Jesu and Higher Profile, with some of the tracks receiving fair air play on local radio stations.
