This comes after the company flew Jah Prayzah to Glamis Arena where he performed last Friday at the Zimbabwe Pacific Sunsplash. Jah Prayzah flew into the venue in place of Luciano whose security personnel refused to take the flight. Luciano was supposed to fly over a number of high-density suburbs before the performance, but Jah Prayzah eventually replaced the Jamaican.

Jah Prayzah’s publicity manager Keen Mushapaidze said the treatment on Friday had to be adopted. “Generally, every developed country has adopted the concept of valuing their artistes and treating them as A-listers. In a way it is just to show that Zimbabwe now appreciates the same concept and it is good if one of our own can now be given equal treatment the same way as we do with international acts,” said Mushapaidze.

“It would really be great if it could be done more frequently, particularly when we tour other cities in Zimbabwe. It is a good way of getting artistes to appreciate the beauty of the country.”

He expressed gratitude for the effort that organisers of the show put into the preparations.

“We are really happy for the acknowledgements that came during and after the show, especially now that we are heading for the launch of our next album Jerusarema at the Harare International Conference Centre on May 22,” he said.

He joked that he wished they could also be flown to Kadoma for their show at Odyssey where they set to perform on Saturday alongside Leonard Zhakata.

“It has been a while since we performed in Kadoma and it would have been nice to be flown into the venue again. The last time we performed we had a sold out show, but the people of Kadoma have been starved of shows for some time,” he said.

“We are looking forward to another great show when we travel as the venue has so far been one of the best for us countrywide.”
