Since 2013, the two teams have played four league matches with How Mine winning two, losing one and drawing one.

Last season, How Mine won their first league encounter and drew 1-1 in the return fixture played at Hartsfield Rugby Ground. Chicken Inn have started the 2015 season on a high, with 12 points after winning four of their first five matches with one defeat to Harare City in their second match. They are on position three, just a point behind Triangle and Dynamos. The gold miners occupy the fourth spot with nine points from two wins, one — a three-points donation by Caps United who failed to fulfil a fixture at Luveve Stadium. They have played three draws and are yet lose a match.

The GameCocks gaffer Joey Antipas said he expected a good game from How Mine.

“How Mine have a good side and they have the potential to give us a good game. They are a scary side, but at the moment they are not playing up to maximum,” he said.

He added: “It does not matter that they are strong on paper. A game of football is played for 90 minutes on the pitch. We do not play names, but play against players.”

How Mine has been touted as one of the strongest teams in the league after acquiring the services of Devon Chafa, Charles Sibanda, Tawanda Muparati, Tapuwa Kumbuyani, Nefitary Ndale, Benjamin Marere, Mgcini Sibanda and Munyaradzi Diya, but that is yet to be seen.

How Mine coach Luke Masomere said: “We will not be pushovers. Chicken Inn are a good side and they have all the resources they need. We will do our best against them.”
