The airmen and the power utility side complete Match Day Five of the fixtures today after the game was called off on April 6 as Ascot was waterlogged and hopefully the swelling skies will not be back to haunt the game again. Chapungu got their first win of the season when they beat Highlanders 1-0 at Barbourfields Stadium on April 12 before the league programme was suspended to make way for the Independence Trophy tournament.

Allen Tavariswa scored the only goal that sank Bosso in their backyard and it is from there that they want to build on.

Coach John Nyikadzino is upbeat ahead of the ZPC Kariba clash with Chapungu having lost two matches and played a draw before edging the Bulawayo giants.

“We will be waiting for them (ZPC Kariba) at Ascot tomorrow (today). They are playing very well and we are expecting a tough match. I would want to say we will come out with maximum points, but we are hoping for a win. “It was sweet victory against Highlanders and it is a morale and confidence booster for the boys. We have somewhere to start,“ Nyikadzino said.

Tavariswa, Tineyi Chitora and Rodwell Mhlanga troubled Bosso at BF and could carry the day against ZPC today. ZPC Kariba, who ceded the championship last year to Dynamos on the last day, losing to Caps United in the deciding match, have played two draws and won two times in the start of the season, beating Highlanders 2-0 in their first game and Buffaloes 5-2 at home in Harare against.

The Saul Chaminuka-coached side came back from behind to settle for a 3-3 draw at the Colliery against Hwange on March 29 and was held 1-1 by Dongo Sawmill on April 11 before the break.

However, they took part in the Independence Trophy losing 0-2 to Dynamos in the semi-final on April 15 before beating Caps United 1-0 third-place play-off at White City Stadium on Saturday. Pride Tafirenyika scored against the Green Machine for ZPC, who are on position five on the log standings with eight points from four matches.

Rescheduled fixtures Today: Harare City v FC Platinum (Rufaro), Chapungu v ZPC Kariba (Ascot)
