The show is slated to take place at Eastern Mediterranean University (EMM), Lions Garden, in Magusa on Saturday April 18.

Zimbabweans in Cyprus gather every year to celebrate Independence and this year they have invited a lot of local dignitaries in Cyprus, including Foreign Affairs minister Özdil Nami.

Nigerian artistes have taken full advantage of the increased number of African students in North Cyprus by scheduling shows on the small island. However, Shinsoman would be the first ever Zimbabwean artiste to perform in North Cyprus.

He is a very well respected artiste and has a lot of great songs in his catalogue.

His fans in Cyprus are surely in for a treat.

The promoter of the event, who is also the president of all Zimbabweans in Cyprus, Talent Gutu, said: “This year we want to celebrate our Independence in a very special way.

“Not only are we looking to get entertainment, but also to promote and introduce Zimbabwean music to the whole world.

“It is my honour to invite and host Shinso to this historic event and my prayer is not to stop here, but continue fighting and be patriotic.

“It is a very big event for me since I have invited very well respected people of Cyprus, including minister Özdil Nami, Rector of EMU and local businessmen.”

On the night, Zimbabwe Students’ Society in Cyprus will have an award ceremony as well where successful students will be be appreciated and honoured.
