REIGNING Zifa Southern Region Soccer League Soccer Star Edmore “Spanner” Chirambadare has made a great start to life in the Castle Premier Soccer League.

The Gweru-born player is the leading goalscorer in the country’s elite division with three goals from five matches and looks set to be one of the standout performers this year if his early season form is anything to go by.
Chirambadare was the top goalscorer last year in the Southern Region Soccer League and his 13 goals for Tsholotsho earned his former team promotion into the top-flight.
The 23-year-old player was snatched up by Chicken Inn at the end of his contract with Tsholotsho after he was spotted by the Gamecocks coach Joey Antipas towards the end of last season.
He began life in the top-flight with a bang when he scored the fastest goal so far this season in his first official match for the Gamecocks in a 2-1 victory over Flame Lily at Luveve Stadium during Week One games.
On Monday, Chirambadare struck twice to give Chicken Inn a 2-0 home victory over Whawha and after taking his goal tally to three, the skilful forward is already dreaming big.
“It has been a good start for me in the PSL and my wish is to reach the halfway stage of the league race as the favourite for the Top Goal Scorer award,” Chirambadare said.

“I believe there is no difference between first division football and the PSL and the most important thing is for one to believe in their abilities and it becomes easier to adjust and adapt,” Chirambadare said. “I will just try and score as many goals as I can and I am not worried about getting any special attention from defenders because it is difficult to understand my type of play,” he said.
Chirambadare is being used as an out and out striker at Chicken Inn where he has formed an exciting combination with fellow twin striker and new signing Mitchelle Katsvairo.
He can, however, play on the flanks or behind strikers and combines pace and dribbling which is a difficult combination for defenders to contain.
Born on January 24 in 1992, Chirambadare began his football career at Gweru Pirates in 2010 and also played for Silo United in 2012 before packing his bags to join Tsholotsho.
Football Club in 2013 after being scouted by Iziqholo zeZhwane coach Lizwe Sweswe while turning out for Midlands at the 2012 National Youth Games in Gwanda.
