The chief executive of Zimbabwe Online, Denny Marandure, recently broke the news on the exciting package for the home users, making the Fibre To Home (FTH) dream a reality.

Currently sailing in a market where the entry package for most providers is around $90, this price adjustment is a game-changer to be welcomed by most Zimbabweans as demand for connectivity both at work and home has surged.

ZOL has priced its basic fibre entry level at $39/month, a price that is fairly within the reach of many Zimbabweans, considering it’s a fibre network.

Speaking at the ceremony, Marandure said, “We want internet to be a basic right for everyone”. With their fibre entry level price, the mission is accomplished!

It’s officially the lowest priced fibre based internet service in Zimbabwe.

Before the event, ZOL’s cheapest fibre package was pegged at $89 for 20GB package which was too high for most Zimbabweans who are struggling under the current harsh economic conditions. The new fibre package is even cheaper than their UMax package priced at $59.

Under its new product package, ZOL will give a phone which one can use to make free calls, but there are not many ZOL numbers out there. Not many people have ZOL VoIP services at the moment.

The product is available in Harare, Bulawayo and Mutare but soon will spread to other areas like Victoria Falls and Masvingo. The product will only be availed to clients with fibre running in their area. The initial charge is $88 which includes the connection fee of $49 and then $39 which will become the monthly charge for usage.

ZOL’s new fibre package will make them a force to reckon with.
