Arena is an International Air Transport Association-registered company in which Herbert Nkala was one of the founding directors.

Golden Touch was founded by Tendai Gutu.

The new entity will operate under the name Arena Travel and Tours with Gutu as its managing director. Nkala will become a non-executive director.

Gutu told NewsDay on Tuesday that the merger which was completed in January would give the company access to more clients.

“Before the merger we (Golden Touch) were going through other agents so the merger has solved it all we no longer have to go through other agents now,” she said.

Gutu said the company will soon be rebranded and is working on a turnaround strategy to boost confidence among clients.

Arena Travel was founded in 1991 as a travel and tours solution provider.

The re-branding of Arena Travel and Tours began in April 2005 from the acquisition and merger of the travel company, which had been operating since 1991.

Over the years, the company has also been known as Zimbabwe Travel Bureau and Barnfords Travel and Tours. Arena is a member of the Association of Zimbabwe Travel Agents and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority.
