HARARE CITY Football Club are engaging companies to bankroll the ambitious Premiership side for the 2015 season with the city fathers insisting there will be no excuses for failure as the team has a competent executive, technical team and players.

This comes at a time the club is changing the club’s logo and flag in line with the club licensing guidelines from the Confederation of African Football (Caf) and international Federation of Association of Football (Fifa) as adopted by Zifa.
“In terms of the guidelines, football clubs should have a distinct identity from any other body or entity. The symbols that depicted the identity of football clubs were the logo and the flag. Currently the Harare City Football club logo and flag were a replica of those for Harare City Council,” council said.
The Information and Publicity committee mandated the club patron, Mayor Bernard Manyenyeni, town clerk Tendai Mahachi and the club’s executive to find sponsorship for the club.
“The committee resolved that the patron endeavors as far as is practicable to find sponsors for the club before the end of the 2015 PSL season.”
“During the discussion on the matter pertaining to the Harare City Football club technical team and players for 2015 Premier Soccer League, the committee suggested that the companies which dealt in business with council be approached with a proposal to sponsor the club. The logos of the prospective sponsors would, in turn be inscribed on players’ regalia as an advertising drive for the sponsors’ product,” read part of the minutes of the Information and Publicity committee.
Harare City are now under the tutelage of former Caps United coach Taurai Mangwiro , who has gone on to recruit some of the best players in the land include Tendai Samanja and Tafadzwa Dube.
