The defeat at Rufaro Stadium last Saturday left the City supporters shell-shocked and with disturbing memories of the team’s disappointing start to the season last year.

In his post-match comments, Mangwiro said his team was just unfortunate to lose the match after dominating the contest for longer periods.

Thus, Mangwiro and his expensively assembled side will be looking to bounce back when they return to Rufaro this afternoon for what promises to be a good contest against Chicken Inn.

Speaking to NewsDay Sport yesterday, Mangwiro said they wanted to put their campaign back on track with a positive result today.

“The result against Tsholotsho was a rude awakening for us and let’s hope this time we will get a good result,” Mangwiro said.

“We are looking to get our campaign back on track, to give life to our camp that is obviously disappointed with last week’s defeat. We lost the match, but it was just unfortunate and not something that can ring the alarm bells. We are calm and only hope for the best against Chicken Inn.”

Mangwiro said they were sweating over the fitness of new signing Tendai Samanja and Francesco Zekumbawira both of whom have knee problems.

Zekumbawira was pulled after just 29 minutes in the loss against Tsholotsho.

While City are smarting from the last weekend shocker, Chicken Inn began their campaign well with a 2-1 win over another Premier League debutant in Flame Lily at Luveve.

But coach Joey Antipas is well aware that Harare City is a different proposition altogether.

“Harare City are a wounded lion and they will come out guns blazing at us, but we would just take our stride and hope to come up with a positive result. They have a strong squad and they are tipped to lift the championship and we still have a lot of work to do. We will take each game as it comes,” Antipas said.
