Courtesy of Swiss Jet Aviation Development Trust, an aviation awareness and promotion concern, the event was aimed at creating awareness and exposing little children to airplanes.

Operations director of the organisation Honour Moyo said everything was on course for the event that was expected to host at least 11 pre-schools.

“We are expecting about 500 children from these schools who have already confirmed their participation on the day.

“They say, “Catch them young” and as an organisation we believe in grooming and educating children about aviation at that early stage. They will grow up with an interest in aviation and as a country, we will have many students choosing the aviation field as a career,” Moyo said yesterday.

A number of activities were lined up for the day including static displays, talk on aviation and entertainment.

“There will be static an aircraft exhibition where at least five helicopters will be on display with children having the opportunity to get inside, take pictures although they will not fly.

“A team of aviators that includes pilots, engineers, and air hostesses will be present to teach them about aviation and answer their questions pertaining to this field,” Moyo said.

For entertainment there will be jumping castles, bucking bull, water slides, face painting, clowns among many other activities.

Moyo said the children will have their special lunch at Hotel Almond and Cresta Oasis hotel.
