The 16-track album titled Mwana Wamambo is the award-winning rapper’s second gospel offering since he shifted from secular rap a couple of years ago.

In an interview with NewsDay, the Gospel rapper who has to date bagged more than 10 awards said he considers himself a preacher hence his music was solely inspired by the word of God.

“I am a preacher who happens to rap not the other way round hence this has resulted in the making of this album as there is so much to preach about. Mwana Wamambo depicts what is said in the book of John 10 v 34.

“It focuses on showing the benefits of being a Christian and the blessing that comes with following Christ, while other gospel musicians are doing a great job on the other hand to ascertain the conversion of more people in society,” he said.

Mudiwa who became a household name not so long ago because of his lyrically rich music and “flashy” style said he was merely emulating the general life of a blessed Christian.

“We (Christians) are children of a king, it is even mentioned in the word that he who is in us is greater so I just showcase the lifestyle of a Christian regardless of the negative attributions it attracts,” the Tisu Anhu Acho hit-maker said.

The artistes pledged to produce more music as he hinted the release of another album before the end of this year.

Many esteemed guests including flamboyant businessman, Phillip Chiyangwa are expected to grace the occasion.

The rapper’s singles have in the past topped local and international charts making him a favourite option for many artistes seeking collaborations.
