THE Big Harare derby between Caps United and Dynamos rarely needs any fuel-adding to the fire, not since Rodreck Mutuma crossed the floor from the Glamour Boys to the Green Machine at the start of the year.

Mutuma, a great enigma, has, however, been at the centre of all the good things that Caps has achieved so far in their pre-season.
Central in his new team’s penalty shootout victory over Dynamos for the Sino Cement Cup a fortnight ago, the lanky forward was equally influential when his team beat Highlanders 2-1 in the Bob91 Super Cup playoff last Sunday, to set up a yet another final meeting with his former paymasters this Sunday.
In just a short space of time, he has won a lot of admirers even from the Dynamos camp who now begin to realise what they will be missing this coming season.
Yet, Mutuma being Mutuma, he could not resist having a mischievous dig on his former employers when he allegedly saved a profile picture on his WhatsApp account of himself celebrating his last weekend goal at Barbourfields Stadium against one of a gloomy-looking Dynamos coach David Mandigora, raising the ire of many Dynamos fans in the process.
The post has generated a lot of attention and obviously stocked flames ahead of the capital’s fiercest rivals’ clash in the Bob91 Super Cup final set for Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
While some have rushed to chastise Mutuma over his latest shenanigans, former Caps United player Alois Bunjira has backed the eccentric player, describing the player’s behaviour as “positive arrogance” which he said has been lacking in the Green Machine’s dressing in recent times.

Bunjira believes Mutuma’s influence in the team would be massive this season, and has already tipped his team to win the league championship this year.
Mutuma, who obviously still has a lot to prove in this match after being “ditched” by the league champions, would be looking to stick another boot in the face of the Dynamos fans.
It is Caps United who are going into the match with all the momentum following a fruitful two weeks which have seen them winning a Cup final and also beat one of the big teams in the country.
New coach Mark Harrison appears to be knitting a well-balanced team built around the controversial Mutuma.
They would be looking to an early dominance over their number one enemy.
Dynamos, on the other hand, would be looking for revenge and a morale-boosting win ahead of a possible season opening rounds of matches next weekend.
Since their defeat against Caps United, the Glamour Boys have been undertaking their business very quietly with closed door friendly matches at Gwanzura Stadium against newboys Flame Lilly last Saturday and Northern Region Division One side Gunners yesterday, which the Harare giants won 2-1 and 2-0 respectively.
