The gaffer is expected to be named as the side’s assistant coach in the next few days together with former ZPC Kariba goalkeeper’s coach Tembo Chuma.

Zuze’s contract at Triangle had expired on the December 31 and was linked with a move to join league champions Dynamos, who have appointed David Mandigora as head coach and Tonderayi Ndiraya as assistant.

Zuze’s decision seems to emanate from a sponsorship cut from Dynamos’ funders BancABC, which will have an effect on his package and had as a result decided to stay on in the Lowveld.

Asked over the new development, Triangle chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze said they were still in the process of sorting out their technical team.

“We are still in the process of addressing our technical team, we will come back to you if we have finalised everything,” he said.

But sources in the executive confirmed Zuze’s decision to stay on.

“The fact is that Zuze never left Triangle, and he is set to be our assistant coach together with Tembo Chuma. Zuze is currently here (Chiredzi) and is finalising the new deal,” he said.

Zuze joined Triangle at the beginning of last season as the side’s head coach replacing Gishon Ntini who was fired after differences with Sugar Sugar Boys executive and went on to win the One Wallet Cup, after beating Dynamos in the final. But the gaffer had an indifferent season as they were involved in the relegation jig-saw the entire season and they eventually hired Kaindu as the side’s technical adviser on a short term contract later into the season. Kaindu was in charge of five games and he amassed a total of 13 points out of possible 15.
