Mushaninga accuses Delta Beverages of ditching her at the last minute resulting in some of the service providers of the pageant in question suing her as the organiser.

Treasure Point Travel and Tours has since attached Mushaninga’s property worth $9 800 which is due to be auctioned on January 20.

Speaking to NewsDay, Mushaninga said Delta approached her ahead of Miss Curvy Africa 2013 that was held in August at the Harare International Conference Centre and told her there was a sponsorship deal from SAB Miller valued at $30 000 using their Redd’s brand.

“I organised Miss Curvy Africa that attracted eight countries and Delta Beverages agreed to pay for all the advertising and road shows material. They even came to the venue and branded it, but they failed to meet the major part of the deal that has seen me being sued by some service providers,” Mushaninga said.

“My lawyers last year served Delta Beverages with summons after Treasure Point sued me and got a court order to attach my property.”

Contacted for comment, Delta through their secretary Alex Makamure said Delta is not privy to the contractual relationship between Mercy and Travel Tours therefore it cannot comment on it.

“Mercy Mushaninga representing Gossip Link (Pvt) Limited t/a Zim Gossip Model Agency issued summons against Delta in the High Court Case No HC 9726/13 for the breach of the alleged sponsorship agreement. The case is currently pending before the courts wherein Delta is defending the matter,” Makamure said.
