Talent Musokeri (30) from Unit O was said to have accused his wife of dating another man.

He pleaded guilty to contravening the Domestic Violence Act when he appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate Lazarus Murendo.

Prosecutor Noman Koropi told the court that on January 20 this year at around 8pm, the complainant, Nyaradzo Musokeri (32), asked for money for their three children’s school fees from her husband.

Talent then started accusing her of being a prostitute and ordered her to undress and lie on the bed, to which she complied.

The court heard that Musokeri muffled her mouth with a cloth and bashed her backside, stomach and under her feet using a plank and metal bar.

As if that was not enough, Musokeri threatened to terminate her pregnancy using a pair of pliers before the woman escaped and reported the matter to police, leading to his arrest.
