WARRIORS striker Tendai Ndoro would not be leaving Mpumalanga Black Aces in the current football transfer window, which closes today at 5pm, despite reports linking him with big money moves to three big South African Premiership sides, the club has said.

Reports have suggested Orlando Pirates are leading a pack of league clubs including Mamelodi Sundowns and recently Kaizer Chiefs are after the 26-year- old’s signature and that a deal for a move to the Buccaneers was imminent.

Ndoro skipped his team’s training session on Monday, fueling the reports that he was on the verge of switching to Pirates.

The Soweto giants have reportedly offered winger Tlou Segolela to Aces as a sweetener to the possible deal.

However, Aces co-owner Mario Morfou has denied the media gossip, telling the club’s website that there has been no contact from any club for the striker’s services, nor is he aware of any, “aside from what I have read in the Press”.

“He has a contract until 2017 and ‘yes’ I have read all the various reports on his imminent departure but can assure our fans that he is going nowhere. We have no intention of letting him leave in this January transfer window, nor have we been approached by any club,” said Morfou.

“Football is about courtesy and business and we at Aces have had no formal offers or requests from any clubs. He is the mainstay of our strike force and we are a bit thin in this department so it makes no sense for him to leave us.”

Morfou did not deny that the player missed training on Monday though.

“He missed training on Monday because I had a meeting with him over some personal issues he had. It was not related to any move,” added Morfou.

The club’s representative Karabo Mathang has not denied that Ndoro might leave the club though, but said that can only happen in the summer.

Mathang is quoted admitting that there is indeed interest in the striker from other clubs.

“We have met with the club [Black Aces], and we agreed that he can only consider moving elsewhere in July/August and not now. So, this means he won’t be joining any club this season,” Mathang told Goal.

However, anything can happen in these transfer windows and if Ndoro leaves, Aces would leave themselves light up front having already shipped striker Mabhuti Khenyeza to National First Division side Lamontville Golden Arrows recently.

It would mean they only have Collins Mbesuma as a recognised out-and-out striker for the remainder of the campaign.

Ndoro is the club’s leading goal scorer this season with five goals having started 16 games and made two substitutes.
