The musician described the track — off her second album titled Chipo Changu to be released next year — as a Christmas present to her fans. “The song Yorira produced and mastered by Russo is the first of more collaboration projects scheduled to be released prior to the album release,” Tariro neGitare said.

“Russo approached me with an instrumental he had worked on with me in mind and when I heard it I accepted the challenge to do something different.”

Tariro neGitare, a product of the Book Café’s Sistaz Open Mic that has also uncovered several top female artistes, believes she is moving in the right direction with her music career.

“I do not usually want to blow my own trumpet, but I am happy that I am managing to stand the test of time and happy that my music is being appreciated beyond borders,” she said.

After making her debut solo performance at Harare International Festival of the Arts in 2012 through the Acoustic Night, a project she founded, the musician continues to make waves on the local showbiz.

She is riding high with her debut self-titled 10-track album called Tariro neGitare comprised of songs, among them, Uripi, Ndinokuda Iwe, Unofona Back and Ndisiye Ndakadaro.

According to Russo the track is a dance song with an African feel in it.

“It is amazing and exciting working with an accomplished artiste especially when you make a sound that is not in their comfort zone, but still comes out awesome,” Russo said
