AFTER appearing on several premium modelling platforms in India, New Delhi-based Zimbabwean supermodel Roselyn Marere’s star continues to shine after she recently starred in Indian rapper Nike Tan’s musical video of the song You O’Clock.
You O’Clock, according to her, is a song that encourages girls and women “that it is not three, four or five o’clock, but it is your time regardless of what the clock shows.”
“This was a first for me,” Marere said.
“This was a huge stepping stone for me. I was nervous at first, but I realised everything has a beginning. I feel honoured to have been a part of a crew that continuously encouraged me.” Marere is also studying for a tourism and travel degree in India.
Although produced in India, the video, according to Nike Tan targets an international audience as it carries a purely American R&B flavour, which can only be timely for the ambitious Marere, who wishes to extend her modelling career beyond India.
Marere, who was raised in the humble Highfield suburb in Harare, made her name in India last year after — as a rookie model — successfully dominated the modelling ramps of the South Asian country.
Since then she has participated in photo shoots with top Indian modelling agents that include AV Modelling, Aak ji Delhi, New Indian Models, Voozit and Designer Next India.
She is currently signed up to Brave Models Management, owned by top photographers in Asia, Europe and America Jaf Jafri and Olya Milentis.
