FORMER Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu could be the next Triangle head coach for the 2015 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.
A confidante of the Zambian gaffer yesterday said Kaindu is likely to put pen to paper with Lowveld side he helped survive relegation, when he was roped in as technical advisor after leaving Bosso.
“There are only a few snags but he (Kaindu) is likely to sign for Triangle anytime soon. He is in Zambia and the moment but there finer details of the deal that have to be attended to,” the source said.
Should Kaindu sign, ZPC Kariba could be the biggest losers as Tembo Chuma, their goalkeepers’ coach is close friend of the Zambia and is likely to move to the Lowveld. Former Highlanders assistant coach Bekithemba Ndlovu could also make the trip.
Kaindu was hired on a short-term contract last year after leaving Bosso and his task was to ensure that Triangle, winners of the One Wallet Cup final, survived the chop from top-flight football.
He was assisting head coach Biggie Zuze, who has since retraced his roots to champions Dynamos where he will be assistant to David Mandigora together with Tonderai Ndiraya while Gift Muzadzi will be the goalkeeper’s coach.
Earlier in the month there were reports that Kaindu’s demands were excessive for the Tongaat Hullet-sponsored outfit but the source yesterday said they two parties were now agreeing on some terms.
The Zambian mentor, who spent close to three years at Bosso and recently acquired his Uefa B badge was also linked with a move to Dynamos.
In Harare, Caps United are also expected to announce Joisten Mathuthu as their new head to replace Taurai Mangwiro, who jumped ship to Harare City as the merry go round of coaches continues.
