IT is said that two’s company and three’s a crowd, but film, literature and sport prove otherwise.

IT is said that two’s company and three’s a crowd, but film, literature and sport prove otherwise.

From Prosper Utseya and Charl Langeveldt’s hat-tricks in one day internationals cricket to Aladdin being granted three magical wishes by the genie, it has proved to be a positive number.

The world of storytelling has also offered up “The Three Musketeers” and the “The Three Stooges” and now Big Brother Africa has produced The Three Suckers: Nhlanhla, JJ and Idris.

These groups usually form as a result of adversity, as shown in French writer Alexandre Dumas’ seminal text, The Three Musketeers, revolving around a young man who joins three compatriots in battling the injustices of the royal regime in France.

In the house, the three male Hotshots formed an easy-going and fun friendship, becoming even closer in the final weeks.

They established The Three Suckers after Ellah told them that they sucked and have made it their mission to stick up for one another in the remaining days.

However, their actions conjure up the idea of the three stooges more regularly as they pull pranks on their fellow Hotshots.

Last night Nhlanhla and JJ were particularly mischievous as they woke up in the middle of the night to chuck everyone’s luggage in the garden, letting Biggie take the blame in the morning.

The former housemates they have to embody has also given them the chance to let go and be supremely silly, as witnessed earlier this week as they mimed and jived in front of the mirror.
