Speaking in an interview with NewsDay, Bloggo said: “Voting started on Tuesday on the website www.smaafrica.com and closed on November 28. The awards ceremony is billed to be hosted in Nigeria early next year.”
TV Yangu has done well this year as they won the Best Citizen Journalist Award at the last edition of the Shoko Festival Hub Unconference, walking away with $1 000.
“As TV Yangu, this is our stepping stone into the region and we intend to continue crowd sourcing for content that is appealing to a regional audience,” Bloggo said.
He said they were now keeping their fingers crossed as they hoped to get to the next stage pending the results of the voting.
