7 Arts Theatre, Avondale AFRO-FUSION group Mokoomba and jazz sensation Victor Kunonga tonight entertain revellers at a concert slated for 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare. Ngoma Nehosho is behind the show which will see Kunonga sharing the stage with the multiple award-winning Victoria Falls-based group for the first time in his music career.

Aquatic Complex, Chitungwiza Pastor Charles Charamba and his wife Olivia tomorrow afternoon headline a fundraising gospel show at Aquatic Complex in Chitungwiza. The show, organised by the Education Coalition of Zimbabwe, is aimed at raising money to fund the education of underprivileged children, especially the disabled. At the show the Charambas will be supported by other gospel groups such as Chitungwiza Apostolic Faith Mission MT Carmel Choral group and other supporting acts.

Book Café After a month-and-a-half of touring the United States with the acclaimed OneBeat and Germany with Kuenda Productions, Zimbabwe’s Princess of Mbira Hope Masike tonight performs at Book Café in a gig dubbed Hope Masike Homecoming Concert featuring talented drummer Blessing Chimanga. Munya Mataruse is the opening act.

Big Apple An array of both upcoming and renowned hip-hop artistes tomorrow will take turns to serenade revellers at a show dubbed Hip-Hop Summer Bounce Party slated for Big Apple Club located at the corner of Mbuya Nehanda Street and Nelson Mandela Avenue in Harare. The show will also feature dance groups Flip Floppers, Magnetic Force and Kalawa, among others, while DJ Game, DJ Tocs and DJ Brownds will rock it on the turntables.

Radost Platinum Radost Platinum, located at Long Cheng Plaza in Belvedere, Harare, tonight hosts a concert dubbed Flickery Fridays, The After Work Solution. Tomorrow several college students will converge at the joint for a varsity students’ welcome party gig dubbed Spring Fever Frequency. All the shows will be hosted by resident DJs Switch Bas and Asy Arz who will be rocking it on the turntables.

City Sports Centre Dendera artiste Suluman Chimbetu, gospel musicians Mathias Mhere and Sebastian Magacha, zora musician Leonard Zhakata and dancehall chanter Tocky Vibes tomorrow perform at a family show slated for City Sports Centre in the capital.

Dandaro Inn Chipaz Promotions in conjunction with Platinum Entertainment tonight host a homecoming show for Canada-based DJ and singer Slicey T at Dandaro Inn located at the Harare Showgrounds. The show features a number of local artistes from different genres, among them, urban groovers Roki and Nox, dancehall chanter Soul Jah Love alongside contemporary musician Jah Prayzah.

Zimbabwe-German Society After hosting successful one-man shows early this year, comedians Doc Vikela and Simba the Comic King tonight perform at Zimbabwe-German Society at a show dubbed Royal Medicine.

Chikangwe Hall, Karoi Popular comedian Uncle Ritchie of the Zvirikumbofamba Sei fame tonight performs at Chikangwe Hall in Karoi at the inaugural two-day Hurungwe Arts Festival which ends tomorrow. The festival will also feature dendera artiste Douglas Chimbetu. The event will have several workshops and programmes in different genres such as dance, music, poetry and theatre. Theatre groups on the bill include Savanna Trust from Harare, Vambelela Arts Ensemble from Bulawayo and Berina Community Arts from Kadoma, among others.

Great Hall, Belvedere Teachers’ College All is set for the annual Jikinya Dance Festival which is on today at Belvedere Teachers’ College in the capital. The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe is organising the event under the theme Celebrating Cultural Diversity and Social Cohesion Through Dance with the support of Delta and Culture Fund. The festival encourages children to appreciate and perform local traditional dances, thus promoting and preserving Zimbabwe’s cultural heritage. United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation director and representative Professor Luc Rukingama will be the guest of honour.

Bar Code, Mutare Local club disc jockey-cum artiste RayDizz will tonight be rocking it on the turntables at Bar Code in Mutare. The youthful wheel spinner will be performing in Manicaland for the first time. DJ RayDizz is proving to be one of the most-sought-after DJs holding residencies at some of Harare’s popular night clubs.

Amphitheatre, Bulawayo About 55 Catholic choirs will tomorrow battle for honours at this year’s edition of the National St Cecilia Music Competition set for Amphitheatre in Bulawayo. The competition is being organised by the Zimbabwe Catholic Association of Sacred Music. This year’s edition will be headlined by a choir from Gauteng, South Africa.

Hope Centre, Bulawayo Hunnar Management Agency will tomorrow host the Intwasa Fashion Show at Hope Centre in Bulawayo as a way of celebrating the 10th anniversary of the annual Intwasa Arts Festival. Several designers will showcase their collections at the event in celebration of Bulawayo’s fashion industry. The show will include 12 local fashion designers and 18 models. The fashion show is supported by Intwasa Arts koBulawayo Festival, Hunnar Management Agency and Edgars Zimbabwe.
